Councils and Meetings

Make a difference in our community - attend a Chamber meeting to see what can be accomplished by a group of like-minded business professionals. It's a great way to educate yourself about what's happening in San Carlos!
 
Most of the following Chamber groups meet monthly. See the Chamber Calendar for more information.

No invitation is necessary – all Chamber members are welcome and guests are encouraged. Weekly Chamber email blasts remind you of the meetings and the speakers. All meetings are approximately one hour long unless noted.

GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS:
Chair: Ron Collins, Collins Insurance & Investments
Meets: 1st Friday at 8 am (see Chamber Calendar for location)
  
Reviews, recommends and lobbies for projects, programs and legislation on a local, county and state level. Representatives of local legislators report to the Council monthly on legislation and issues at the City, County, State and Federal levels. Everyone welcome to attend.

Meets 4th Wednesday at noon at the Chamber office, 1500 Laurel Street

Ambassadors are the official hosts and greeters who mentor new members, deliver welcome baskets, attend ribbon cuttings and spread the word about the Chamber. They also work to recruit and retain members. If you have been a member of the Chamber for three months or more and are interested in being an Ambassador, download a form, complete it and fax it to the Chamber.

Task Forces
The Chamber also has several Task Forces ongoing at any time. Currently there is a Task Force on Membership Development and one on Economic Development. Please contact the Chamber for more information.

Scholarships
The Chamber gives scholarships away annually to San Carlos youth and to children of members. A committee meeting 2-3 times in the spring to review applications and interview students. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please contact Scholarship Chair Libby Pannwitt of The Work●Life Design Group. Applications will be available online February 1, 2009 for the 2008-09 school year.
