Scholarships are awarded May 1 each year.
   
PURPOSE
The San Carlos Chamber of Commerce is an organization dedicated to
improving the economic vitality of San Carlos and contributing to the
economic growth of local businesses. Toward this end, the Chamber
awards annual scholarships to who will potentially be a part of
the local trade, business or professional community.
Please note that other
San Carlos organizations also have scholarships available:
ELIGIBILITY For SAN CARLOS CHAMBER
SCHOLARSHIP:
1.
High school seniors
planning to enroll fulltime in the fall of 2008 in an
accredited trade
or business school, community college, college or
university are eligible.
2.
Students must either live in San Carlos or
have a parent/guardian
who works for a business which is a member of
the San Carlos
Chamber.
3.
Students must have positive character and leadership skills,
demonstrated
by community involvement, academic excellence and/or
extracurricular activities and are committed to further
their formal
education to enter a trade, public service or the
business world.
4. Must have performed at
least 40 hours of community service or
volunteer work in the past two
years with a non-profit, with seniors,
children, religious
organization, etc.
INFORMATION
8 San
Carlos Chamber scholarships are given in amounts from $1,000 to
$2,500. The amount given is determined
solely by the Scholarship
Committee based on the application, focus
and community service rather than on
need.
8 Scholarships
may be used at the university, college, community college or trade
school of student’s choice.
8 The
scholarship check will be mailed directly to the student when the
student
graduates from high school and has
committed to one school for September.
